We’re proud to share that Tim Quirk has officially become the first valuer at Herron Todd White to achieve the Australian Property Institute’s Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) (Residential) accreditation, an important new professional milestone for our industry.
The CPV (Residential) certification is only available to Associate Members of the Australian Property Institute (API) who have met the Institute’s strict educational and experience requirements. To gain the accreditation, candidates must demonstrate their capability through report submissions and a professional interview. Importantly, this certification means the valuer is qualified to undertake any residential property valuation, for any purpose, provided the highest and best use of the property is residential. It also confirms that the property can only be used for residential purposes.
Achieving this accreditation is a rigorous process, and Tim handled it with diligence, focus and commitment. But what sets him apart is the way he shared the journey. He proactively offered his report templates and insights to help other CPV colleagues working towards the same goal, reflecting his dedication and his collaborative spirit.
For Tim, this certification unlocks new professional opportunities and carries recognition from all major financial institutions. For HTW, it marks a significant step in our continued commitment to excellence in residential valuation.
Not only is it great to have our first CVP (Residential), but we also take stock knowing that our people’s knowledge is helping to create better standards for the valuation industry and our clients.
Kim Quick from our Hobart office was part of the API’s CPV Residential Working Group for over 12 months, helping to get the qualification off the ground.
Kim said of this new milestone for residential valuers, “The new CPV Residential category is an exciting initiative that will recognise the specific skill set of the career Residential Valuer, as a professional who understands the nuances of the residential sector, our largest property asset class.”
“It will provide a pathway for members to progress from CPV who wish to remain within that market, and for our new graduates to progress directly to full accreditation within Residential valuations. The report requirements for API Accreditation reflect the workflow variations managed by Residential Valuers and the knowledge gained from working within this specific market. The CPV Residential category should assure our clients, members and employers that the API will find solutions to ensure our industry remains robust.”
At Herron Todd White, we’re passionate about creating an environment where people can grow to new heights in their careers. Whether it’s through mentoring, professional development, or supporting our team to pursue industry-leading accreditations, we encourage everyone to back themselves and take on new challenges. Tim’s achievement is a great example of how we support our people to achieve their career ambitions and why HTW is a fantastic place to build your future in valuation.
For our clients, this milestone is another reminder of the confidence they can have in working with HTW. Our people hold the highest professional standards, ensuring every valuation is delivered with expertise, integrity and care.
