Herron Todd White’s SEQ Property Overview Breakfast 2025 brought more than 580 property professionals together at The Star Brisbane for a morning of insights, analysis, and networking. It was the first time the annual SEQ Property Overview Breakfast was held at this venue, and it didn’t disappoint.
The event featured Dr Jonathan Kearns, Chief Economist at Challenger, alongside HTW experts Gavin Hulcombe and Alistair Weir, who unpacked key market trends across South East Queensland’s residential and commercial property sectors.
SEQ remains one of Australia’s hottest property markets
From the presentations, one message was clear, SEQ’s property market remains hot. Despite rising costs and supply challenges, demand continues to surge thanks to strong population growth, major infrastructure investment, and the long-term momentum of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
Gavin Hulcombe, HTW’s Managing Director – Commercial, Agribusiness and Government, said “SEQ continues to break records, and the fundamentals suggest this strength isn’t slowing anytime soon.”
Alistair Weir, HTW’s Director – Commercial, added that well-located industrial and office assets continue to perform strongly, especially those close to major transport and lifestyle hubs.
When asked where they’d spend $20 million in today’s SEQ property market, their answers reflected the region’s diversity and opportunity:
- Alistair: inner-city industrial hubs like Stafford, Enoggera, Salisbury, and Coorparoo.
- Gavin: Olympic precincts including Victoria Park, Woolloongabba, and Spring Hill, and if it came down to one investment, “it’d probably be a townhouse.”
