Herron Todd White is proud to celebrate the achievements of Anna Tong, a talented valuer from our Government division, who has been named the Aspiring Expert of the Year by the Municipal Group of Valuers.

Recognising Emerging Talent in Valuation
This award honours early-career professionals who are making a strong impact in the valuation industry. As part of her recognition, Anna will receive a $5,000 research grant and take part in a mentorship with legal experts from Maddocks, one of Australia’s leading law firms.
Her project, ‘Compulsory Acquisitions: Market Valuation of Land Zoned for a Public Purpose,’ will explore how government land use and zoning influence property value. This topic continues to grow in importance as infrastructure projects expand across Australia.
Sharing Knowledge With the Industry
Anna will also present her findings at the 2026 Municipal Group of Valuers Country Conference. This opportunity allows her to share practical insights with peers and contribute to advancing government valuation practices.
Reflecting on her experience at the most recent conference, Anna said:
“Attending the Country Conference was an enriching experience. I learned so much from the speakers and fellow attendees. I feel honoured to be selected for this award and excited to begin working with Maddocks on a topic that’s incredibly relevant to our profession.”
